How to Move During a Pandemic (Part 3)

How to Move During a Pandemic (Part 3) – Educating Your Staff About Safe Relocation Best Practices is an Important Part of Your Commercial Office Move

Currently it is almost impossible not to be concerned about making a safe relocation. As we unpacked (pun intended) in part 2 of this series, “Buehler Will Help You Move to a New Office Location With These Moving Safety Tips,” Buehler has your back when it comes to moving safety tips.

So here is one last moving safety tip!

Educate your staff about safe travels and safe relocation during your commercial move.

Our President and GM, Scott Luedke, suggests,

“Have your office move coordinator call our customer service team! We’ll provide you with information about social distancing education and documentation about moving as an essential service.”

Beyond that, there is no need to recreate the wheel; CDC is very clear about this!

Safe Travels for Safe Relocation

Before traveling, advise your team to:

Research The Travel Route

When it comes to the final destination, is Covid-19 spreading, and at what rate?

What about the cities and towns they’ll need to travel through to arrive at their final destination?

Tell your team to check the local health department websites for all these towns to ensure they have the most accurate information.

Observe Social Distancing Best Practices

Will your staff be in close contact with others during their trip?

Risk of exposure increases in crowded settings, as well as tight spaces with limited airflow.

When possible, encourage your team to avoid traveling during peak times. Also, urge them to consider driving in a private car vs. taking a bus, train, or plane.

Bring plenty of food and water to reduce the need to stop along the way.

Older adults and people of any age with serious chronic medical conditions (such as heart disease, lung disease, or diabetes), should take extra precautions.
